

Carlos Segundo is a director, cinematographer, screenwriter, and editor. A member of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, Carlos Segundo holds a PhD in Film from Unicamp and completed a postdoctoral fellowship focused on auteur cinema at IRCAV, Paris III – Sorbonne Nouvelle. He is currently a professor in the Audiovisual program at the Department of Social Communication at the Federal University of Rio Grande do Norte. Segundo has directed more than 20 fiction and documentary works, including the short films “Sideral” (2021), which screened at the Cannes Film Festival, received a Special Mention at the Interfilm Berlin, and was shortlisted for the Academy Award for Best Live Action Short Film; “Big Bang” (2022), which received an award at the Locarno Film Festival; and the feature film “Slits” (2019), which was presented at the 43rd Mostra.
