Carlos Saldanha

Brazilian filmmaker, director, producer, and animator based in Los Angeles. He holds a master’s degree in arts with a specialization in digital animation from the School of Visual Arts in New York. In partnership with Chris Wedge, he co-directed “Ice Age” (2002), nominated for the Academy Award for Best Animated Feature. Subsequently, he directed “Ice Age 2” (2006), “Robots” (2005), “Ice Age 3” (2009), and the “Rio” franchise (2011 and 2014). He was also nominated for an Academy Award for the short film “Gone Nutty” (2002) and for Best Animated Feature for “Ferdinand” (2017). In recent years, he expanded his work to live-action productions, creating and producing the series “Invisible City” (2021) and “How To Be a Carioca” (2023), and the feature film “Harold and the Purple Crayon” (2024).
