Bertrand Mandico is a French filmmaker who, for over 20 years, has been developing a unique, dreamlike visual language and style — a blend of formal and non-naturalistic narrative. Among his works are the short film “Boro in the Box” (2011), presented at the Directors’ Fortnight of the Cannes Film Festival, and the medium-length film “Ultra Pulpe” (2018), presented at Cannes’s Critics’ Week. He directed the feature films “The Wild Boys” (2017), screened at the Venice Film Festival and winner of the Louis Delluc Prize for Best First Feature; “After Blue (Dirty Paradise)” (2021), exhibited at the 45th Mostra and at the Locarno Film Festival, where it won the critics’ prize; and “She Is Conann” (2023), selected for the Directors’ Fortnight at Cannes.
