

Born in Cameroon, Kouemo Yanghu began his film studies thanks to the film classes created by the Écrans Noirs festival association in Yaoundé, then deepened his knowledge at the École Supérieure de l’Audiovisuel in Toulouse, France. A film instructor, he joined the Canal Plus Horizons group in 2019 as a reader-consultant for detective series aimed at African audiences. He directed short films such as “Waramutsého!” (2009) and “Painful Imprints” (2015), which received awards at several festivals, and “My Friend Fukushima” (2023), which premiered at the Cannes Pan-African International Film Festival. He is the founder of the production company Horizon d’Afrique. “House of the Wind” is his first feature film.
