Alexandre Poncet was born in France in 1979. A director, screenwriter, and producer, he also works as a film composer. Gilles Penso was born in Marseille, France, in 1967. A director, screenwriter, and author, he directed, among others, the documentary “Ray Harryhausen: Special Effects Titan” (2012), about the renowned visual effects and stop-motion animation artist, presented at the Annecy International Animation Film Festival, and has published books in English and French on cinema and visual effects. Together, Poncet and Penso directed the documentaries “Creature Designers - The Frankenstein Complex” (2015) and “Phil Tippett: Mad Dreams and Monsters” (2019, 43rd Mostra). They are also co-authors of the books “Mad Dreams and Monsters: The Art of Phil Tippett and Tippett Studio” (2022) and “Doug Chiang: The Cinematic Legacy/The Star Wars Legacy” (2025).
