The April 2002 failed coup d’etat against President Hugo Chávez provides the background to this film. Five little stories featuring characters and families that represent a microcosm of Venezuelan society: a successful and arrogant lawyer; a corrupt and cowardly military man; two beggars who fall in love amidst the chaos, survival and abuse of power; a couple of naively hopeful teenagers; and a single and resigned mother. Stories involving pettiness, hope and discouragement, each of them is moving, definitive and tragic.
