Based on Peter Carey’s novel, the film tells the story of the outlaw Ned Kelly, famous in Australia. Kelly was raised in an Irish and rebellious family, which already faced the local police. He meets Harry Power, a bush-ranger with little regard for colonial authority, over the wild territory where he operates. Over time, he gathers a gang, and many Australian settlers applaud his exploits.
