Baskaran left India and moved to Dubai. His ideia was to find a better life, but he goes back to his home country in a coffin. His wife and now widow, Sundari, rejects the theory that he killed himself. She asks her cousin, the filmmaker Jayakrishnan Subramanian, to investigate the cause of the death. The director embarks on an outer and inner journey into Baskaran’s past, who is just one individual from a mass of Indian blue-collar workers that the film lends a face to.
