Gilda, daughter of an afro descendant and a German Jewish, begins to research the history of a road that, on the 19th century, was used as a secret rout by slaves traders in the Brazilian Atlantic rainforest. She finds relevant documents, but no one else wants to search the city’s past. Gilda`s relentless pursuit spills over the directors. They see this obscure chapter of the history of slavery in Brazil come to the present, here and now, through images made by photographer Marc Ferrez.
