An audience, poets, original poems and groove: that is the formula of Poetry Slams, performance championships of spoken poetry that are spreading across Brazil. The film observes the growth of the Brazilian scene since 2008, travels to its origins in the USA and follows the 2016 Brazilian champion, Luz Ribeiro, until the Poetry Slam World Cup in Paris, representing the new feminist and black wave that has been establishing through the virulence of the politicized spoken word.
