Maggie is a vibrant and practical thirty-something woman who, without success in finding love, decides it’s time to have a child on her own. But when she meets John, a anthropologist professor, Maggie falls in love for the first time and adjust her plans. John is in an unhappy marriage to Georgette and sees a chance to end things with his eccentric and domineering wife. Once the new couple settles down and starts a family of their own, it becomes clear that this isn’t the storybook ending Maggie had hoped for, so she creates a new plan to set things right.
