The Ashes (1965)

Sobre o filme

After traveling throughout Italy in the summer 1798 duke Jan Gintułt returns to his homeland. Here, by chance he meets a young nobleman, Rafał Olbromski, who becomes his secretary. Intelligent, but somewhat naive and hypersensitive Rafał accompanies Duke Gintułt on his journeys. In Warsaw he gets introduced in Freemasonry circles centered around Prince Poniatowski, he joins the Napoleon`s army and takes part in the subsequent bloody battles.
