On the last day of the World War ll, Maciek, a young Home Army soldier, receives the mission to kill a communist leader. Disturbed by the sudden transformation of allies into enemies, he decides to enjoy the life for one night. It is when he falls in love with Krystyna, a waitress, and think of giving up the fight.

Winner of the FIPRESCI prize at the Venice Film Festival.
