Cataguases, Minas Gerais, 2005. After a failed marriage which made him lose his job and contact with his child, Sérgio de Souza Sampaio decides to immigrates to Lisbon, Portugal. He wants to get his life back together and save money so he can move back to Brazil, live out of investments and climb the social ladder. Full of dreams, Sergio is confronted with the harsh reality of immigration: the day-to-day, the underworld and cultural differences will reveal a different place than the one he had dreamed of. Based on the novel of the same name by Luiz Ruffato.
