It’s the 1600’s and Queen Kristina is set to modernize Sweden. Having been raised as a Prince under strict Lutheran control, the Queen faces powerful resistance in her quest to educate her subjects and end the bloody Thirty Years War between Protestants and Catholics. Through all this, Kristina struggles to understand the love she feels for her lady in waiting, the Countess Ebba Sparre. Torn between the conflict of political and personal aspirations, Kristina chooses to take one of the most controversial decisions in history.
