Dauna faces the rigid conventions of an ancient culture. With her, she carries the mark of being different and the need to choose between loving her husband or devote herself fully to her vocation, in which case she would risk losing her beloved, suffering the repudiation of her community, bearing the stigma of imprisonment and the separation from her daughter.
