Maren is in the middle of puberty when her mother reveals the secret, which was kept until now, of her father having changed his sex and now being a woman. Without telling anyone, she travels all the way to the square suburbian idyll of Cologne to find her father, now calling himself Sophia and wanting to be Maren’s mother.
