Djamila and her son Daniel, Mrs Farrugia, Noor, and Mr Marfouz live in a small house and get on well enough. Djamila and Marfouz have an affair until the day he decides he will fetch a wife from North Africa, his native land. The other women comfort Djamila. Marfouz comes back married to Fadela and locks her up in the house while he goes to work. The other women are horrified at his attitude and make a campaign to liberate Fadela and redeem Djamila?s honor.
