A day in the life of an anonymous Hungarian drugs peddler. His clients include the leader of a religious sect, a friend who needs a final "prick of the needle", his first mistress, who knew him as a child, and a black trader. Life is re-created in a ghost city - in a world with its own priorities and realities. The city is the real protagonist of the story.
