At the 25th anniversary of the Toronto Festival, Maddin made one of his most celebrated short films, a parody of the Soviet commercial silent films. Awarded for Best Experimental Film at the National Society of Film Critics and at the San Francisco Festival, the director himself makes a remark about his work: “Without anyone noticing, I squeezed unnumbered microscopic overturns among the images of this ostensive cinematographic presentation and turned a six minutes film into a feature film. Please, watch it carefully!”
