One year after the death of her husband, Laura Rosselini goes back to her house at the seaside with her daughters, Roberta and Maria, and her aunt and uncle. While the family is out for a boat ride, Laura stays on her own and hears news over the radio of the assassination of a Palestine leader. The crime was early in the morning in a small hotel, not too far from there. On the deserted beach, Laura comes across a wounded man who denies he has anything to do with the fact. She decides to help him. Meanwhile, the police continue to search for the assassin. Other elements are woven into the web, such as a mysterious sailing boat, a hold-up by an armed group, an explosion, and fire.
