A tragicomedy with autobiographical features set to a background of the main events in the history of Poland over the last thirty years such as the advent of the Solidarity Union, General Jaruzelski’s coup d?etat, and the fall of communism. The main character is Marek Pozny, a boy born in 1968. One day he is vividly impressed by the performance of an aged actor and decides to follow in his footsteps. In the school of dramatic arts, Marek falls in love with Martha, the girlfriend of his friend Wiktor. With the fall of communism, Wiktor swiftly adapts to the new reality and becomes a star. Marek can only find himself secondary roles.
