Dolores de Maria is a free-spirited young Brazilian art student traveling through Tijuana in Mexico. She meets Damián, a journalist with whom she has an intimate and spiritual relationship with effects both in Mexico and in Brazil. Dolores will embark on the greatest conflict in her life: to devote herself to a great love, or to delve into discovery of her roots in candomblé. At the pace of a road movie, the plot unfolds through desert scenarios, small villages and cities such as Mexico City, São Paulo, and Salvador. The technical team include Brazilian talent in cinema such as Vera Hamburger, art director for Deus É Brasileiro and Carandiru, and Marjorie Gueller, costume designer for Memórias Póstumas (special exhibition at the 29th Mostra) and Contra Todos (28th Mostra). Otto, from Pernambuco, created the sound track for Árido Movie.
