The film`s title refers to Rembrandt`s last self-portrait. The screenplay, however, does not focus only on the artist: it also depicts his worldview. Each event in Rembrandt`s life corresponds to one of his works, from his marriage to a rich woman to his abandonment, lack of understanding, and complete loneliness. In his last self-portrait, he found the strength to paint himself with perfect objectivity and resignation. The feature film "Rembrandt Fecit 1669" was screened at the 2nd and 15th Mostra editions.
