With shades of an existentialist suspense, the film tells the story of a somber, tyrannical father who lives with his three teenage daughters in a cassava farm in innermost Maranhão. The family feels the mother’s absence, while they have to deal with the strict orders of a strange foreman who exploits them. Meanwhile, the man hunts the innocence of the girls, who are torn between the illusion of childhood and the harsh reality of their lives. While the family axis crumbles down little by little, the characters find themselves between madness and reason, chaos and faith.
