Hannah is a woman with little prospect of change in her monotonous existence. Day-to-day life for her consists of total devotion to her husband and son in the small town where they live. Things start to change when she is given tickets for a gospel concert to be held in town. As from then, hell - or heaven - is before her, relentless. Not only for her, but for Jackson too. He is a black pastor who unwittingly, finds himself in the same town as Hannah. She is not long in rediscovering feelings she had thought were long since forgotten, a kind of divine talent, she is reluctant to acknowledge.
