An irreverent comedy set in the country, in England. Kate is a successful, respectable woman of 40, reserved by nature. Every Monday, she and her friends, Molly and Janine, also thirtyish and single, meet to smoke, imbibe gin, eat chocolate and compare notes on their unsuccessful sentimental affairs. One day, Kate meets Jed, a former student almost 20 years younger and, to her surprise, they start a love affair. At first, she hardly knows what to say to her friends and, when they find out, they are shocked and begin to outline a plan to put an end to the romance.
