The film focuses on the cycle of labor that produces bread, from sowing the seed, to milling flour, and on to the final product. The film maker endeavors to show the role of man at each stage of manufacturing bread, tracing the thread of the history of this staple food over the course of a number of eras. The film maker made two versions of the film: one, a short film (25 minutes) and this, a longer film.
