The friendship between two boys living in an orphanage where they are obliged to work. The situation changes with the advent on the scene of a mysterious man. Religious, political, and spiritual conflict permeate the plot. Based on Macedonian, a novel by Zivko Cingo who, for the first time in the seventies, shed light on the Stalin period in Yugoslavia in the forties. The production had to cope with a great deal of risk, filming on locations in Macedonia, with the imminent possibility of an outbreak of civil war.
