With the downfall of Saddam Hussein, Ali, an Iraqi exile, is invited to return once more to Baghdad. When it is time to go back, Ali recollects his state of anxiety and his past, feelings that grow in intensity to the extent that he reassesses the meaning of his journey and reconsiders his concepts of home and possessions. What lies in wait for him in post-Saddam Iraq? Ali’s fears and doubts are assuaged when he thinks about his childhood in the Middle East, as a small boy – a free spirit drifting on the wind.
