The film accompanies an afternoon in the lives of four actresses, all around 40 years old, who get together to write a play. The title, “Confessions of 40-year-old women”, alarms the director, who argues that women in this age range don’t make any confessions. This conflict is permeated by worries with the husbands and children and ageing, amongst other subjects, which come together in a quasi-documentary on female behaviour.
