With the desire to improve their lives, men migrate without realizing it destroys what they want to save: their families. This is the story of Diamantina and Araceli, two youths from Mixtec Oaxaca that watch their men go to the north in search of economic improvement. Santiago tries to raise money in order to marry Diamantina. Macario wants to take his family out of poverty. When men return to their hometowns, nothing is the same. Both want to recover what they left behind, Santiago courting the daughter of Diamantina, Macario seeking forgiveness from his wife and children.
