On the 5th of October of 1997, a film crew enters the Vila Parque da Cidade slum, located in Gávea, the southern area of Rio de Janeiro. The residents are attending the mass celebrated the Pope at the Flamengo Landfill. In December, the crew returns to the slum in order to learn how the residents live with the religious experience. Followers of Catholicism, Umbanda, Evangelicalism, they all share a belief in directly communicating with the supernatural world through an intervention, in their daily lives of saints, orixas, guides or Holy Spirits.
