Dracula: Pages From a Virgin´s Diary (2002)

Sobre o filme

A transposition from Bram Stoker`s classic, inspired on the adaptation by the Royal Winnipeg Ballet. The gothic environment contextualizes the plot, which retells the story of Count Dracula creatively, and uses inter-titles commonly seen in silent movies and scenes shot by Super-8. The story is divided in two parts: the first story describes Lucy Westenra seducing the master of darkness and turning into a vampire; and the second story follows the pursuit imposed to Lucy’s cousin, Mina, and her husband Jonathan Harker by Dracula. The film maintains the surrealistic style, commonly found in the director’s filmography, besides the subversive and erotic sense, clearly observed when the scientist Van Helsing examines Lucy. The musical flows to the sound of the First, Second and Ninth Symphony by Gustav Mahler. It was awarded at the International Emmy Awards 2002.
