Paco, played by Debora Falabella and Tonho, by Roberto Bomtempo, are illegal Brazilian immigrants in New York. Shy Tonho dreams of being successful, but misses his family and Brazil. Pursued by the Immigration Service and later arrested, he is in despair at being deported. Paco, a talented performer, indifferent to all, except her career, aims at hitting the top ten. The film shows the relationship of the couple in love mid hope, difficulties, and misencounters in a beautiful and violent metropolis. Paulo Halm wrote the script based on a play by Plínio Marcos. Winner of the awards for Best Editing and Best Music in the 2002 Gramado Festival.
