Shortly before his 50th birthday Jürgen Kotschie falls into a deep hole and experiences a deep, sensory life crisis. His present life is something to be proud of: family, big house, good job. Nevertheless, Kotschie suddenly puts everything into question. Somehow it isn’t functioning anymore. The insanity of everyday life is too much for him. And on top of that, the physical decline: weight gain, sweat outbreaks, breathlessness. Then, Kotschie turns his attention more and more inwards. But the repeated dreams of his previous love Carmen do not make it easier for him to see his present life with a fresh perspective. Against his very own nature, our hero becomes rebellious and attempts escape.
