Júlio César is an amateur tarok fortune-teller eking out an existence as a taxi driver in Lima. When he finds out his teen-age daughter is pregnant, he embarks on a dangerous process of transformation during which he is to understand that, though he is not the master of his fate, even so, salvation is feasible.
