A poet known to be a turbulent character, António Lobo de Carvalho was an 18th-century inhabitant of Guimarães. He wrote satirical poems filled with carcasses and sex, which led to him having to flee town years later. Pedro Bastos portrays him with glorious lashings of color, organ music and as the personification of worship for the female form.
