Three characters wandering aimlessly in up-country United States are in search of self-knowledge: Ali, a Pakistan Moslem searching for his missing wife; Teppei, a Japanese wayfarer on his way across the country; and Sarah, a girl they find in a trailer park. They drift with no set destination over inhospitable terrain and their erring spirits meet in harmony. This road movie associates different people, united by feelings of universal fraternity.
