A drama following the life of a 20-year-old woman whose brain functions are paralyzed after meningitis. She is like a living laboratory for medicine and a problem for the family. Her mother decides to marry her off, dreaming that she would thus find a cure. However, very soon her husband starts to reject her, unwilling to accept having such a beautiful but disabled woman. Berta withdraws into her own world, beginning her slow death.
