Two brothers are planning to rob their parents‚Äô jewelry store. They need extra money, and are planning the perfect crime, without guns, violence or victims. Hank is a loser, a slacker, while the smug Andy is a drug addict whose career at a major corporation is going downhill. Andy’ wife is having an affair with Hank. Everything seems to go well, until an accomplice ignores the rules and goes too far, leading to a series of events that leave no one unscathed. The movie superimposes narrative times, revealing information based on different points of view. Veteran filmmaker Sidney Lumet is seeking a possibility in human desperation and family problems. Harking back to the spirit of 70’ movies, Lumet once again calls into question America’ self-image.
