Three lonely wayfarers travel different trajectories over roads to the northeast of Minas Gerais, between the cities of Montes Claros and Pedra Azul. They are men who are down and out because of circumstances or because they are free spirits, which drives them to walk ceaselessly, with no fixed destination. They talk to themselves, at times low, as if mulling over ideas, souvenirs or rebellion, or they talk to their peers whom they meet along the way. One of them weaves a long and particular digression on God, while another road dweller questions him the whole time. Director Cao Guimarães is an artist adept at video art and he envelops his characters in sophisticated images representative of their solitude. The film makes up a trilogy begun with A Alma do Osso (2004).
