John, his wife Emily and their small son Edward leave the city where they live and travel to a small country town on the edge of the Alexandrina lake. The main objective is to lay claim to a cabin inherited by John. There, they meet with an inhospitable village where nothing is what it seems to be. John, in turn, starts to behave in a bizarre fashion as he meets the uncommon inhabitants of the town. He learns of the past of some of these strangers.
