Summer Love (2006)
Sobre o filme
This allegorical western starts, literally, with the sound of a shot. A man dressed in black appears on the screen, bleeding and dying. He is The Stranger, the herald of Death, no name, no face, announcing what is to come. If a photograph is worth one thousand words, a film represents hundreds of photos. Each image tells part of a story of love and of pain, of redemption and death. Summer Love is a modern story set in the old west, a retake of the western spaghetti genre from the 60s and 70s. These were films on a low budget, mainly made in Italy as a parody of Hollywood westerns. On the surface of the plot are all of the usual elements: man loses girl, girl wants a change in life, strangers in town. The characters have no name and are called what they represent. The Girl: a faded beauty, cannot hide the wounds from the past. The Sheriff: a drunk who beats himself for having lost his wife. The Big Man: fat, jealous, and a friend of the Sheriff?s who secretly desires The Girl. One day, The Stranger arrives in town mounted on a horse, while The Wanted Man returns to the site of the massacre that occurred in the initial scenes of the film.
