Responsible for the personal care of four students at a boarding school in the countryside, they survive their circumstances by dreaming of freedom. When an unexpected romance puts Lena’s life in danger, dreams of escape become a necessity, and the four girls decide to run away. To their surprise, their sinhás discover the plan — and demand to join them. Finding shelter in an abandoned mansion, the group faces the challenges of living together. Free from traditional power structures, the Black women experience power, love, and the possibility of dreaming about the future, while the white women resist learning to help with household tasks, take care of themselves, and face their mistakes. When an old threat resurfaces, however, they must all come together to survive.
