Pedro is four years old and lives with his sister and mother in a village of houses in downtown São Paulo. His life is filled with trees, neighbors, and games, until the news arrives that everything will be demolished to make way for a new apartment building. The narrative follows the boy’s watchful eyes and imagination, capturing the pain of being separated from his friends, the conflicts with the construction company, and the emptying of the houses, while the residents mobilize to preserve the memory of that space.
