After 15 years living abroad, Amanda returns home with Martin, her French boyfriend. They arrive in the family’s enormous farm, located in an isolated village in the endless plains of southern Brazil. There, Amanda finds her father in a coma and a growing tension between the workers. The only doctor in the nearby village is Helô, a woman who sacrifices herself to care for the town’s inhabitants. Her father’s impending death places Amanda, Martin, and Helô at the center of a disturbing arrangement with the inhabitants of the village.
