Bernicia works at the ticket booth of a national park, doing odd jobs and faithfully contributing to her family. One day, she finds a lost horse, and becomes deeply connected to the animal. She undergoes a profound transformation: gradually, she takes on the persona of a cowboy. Her life gains new meaning, and for the first time, she recognizes her individuality. This disturbs her family and confuses those around her, but Bernicia finds the strength to follow her own path —living, for the first time, on her own terms.
