After an incident at their high school, Wei, an outgoing only son from a middle-class family, and Shuo, his quiet, perceptive classmate, find themselves connected through some mysterious energy that draws them intimately into each other’s lives. Shuo is introduced to Wei’s parents. The couple shows a strong interest in Shuo’s troubled past and welcomes him into their family with an enigmatic charm. Gradually, Shuo begins to realize that the family’s pleasant everyday life hides unspoken secrets, unmet expectations, and neglected emotions. A tragic incident further complicates their lives, bringing past wounds and present anxieties under careful scrutiny.
