It’s lunchtime at The Grill restaurant in Manhattan, and the money has gone missing from the cash register. All the immigrant and undocumented cooks are under investigation —and Pedro is the prime suspect. A dreamer and a troublemaker, he’s in love with Julia, an American waitress who can’t seem to commit to a relationship. Rashid, the restaurant owner, has promised to help Pedro with his documents so he can become a legal citizen. But a shocking revelation about Julia drives Pedro to commit an act that will disrupt the production line of one of the busiest kitchens in the city.
